It’s been a long time since we posted about one of our employee’s favorite baby shower themes, so we thought today would be a great day to start that up again! Today we’re highlighting Katie’s favorite theme, our Dr. Seuss baby shower decorations.

Dr. Seuss Baby Shower Supplies

Dr. Seuss is a treasured kids’ author, so what better way to celebrate a new baby than by having a “Book Shower!”

This is an especially great theme for parents who already have an older child and still have all of the baby stuff they’ll need for a new child. Instead of asking for the traditional crib, stroller, etc., request that guests all bring a children’s book (your choice whether you request Dr. Seuss books only or any children’s author). To make it extra special, ask your friends to each sign the inside of the front cover of the book they bring, and write a message for the new baby to read when he/she is old enough.

Dr. Seuss Thank You Cards

Decorating for a Dr. Seuss baby shower is a fun and easy task. We have most of your decorations covered, including your tableware, a banner for the wall, centerpieces, and two different diaper cake options. To complete the theme, decorate by placing your favorite Dr. Seuss books around the room. If you’re a crafty person, you may even want to make life-sized versions of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters out of cardboard to decorate the walls. You can also find Dr. Seuss stuffed animals to decorate with, which could double as favors for your guests to take home to their children, or could be used to decorate the nursery after the baby shower. To save a bit of money and to make some of the themed items really “pop,” we also have a variety of solid-colored products to mix and match with the themed ones. With so many fun, bright colors in this theme, you can choose from light yellow, baby blue, red, emerald, and baby pink to mix in with this theme – or use them all! If you’re having a boy, maybe you want to play up the boyish colors and mix in extra blue. Or you can do the same with pink for a girl! Or if you want to reveal your baby’s gender at the baby shower, use both the pink and the blue solids with the theme, and dye the inside of the cake with the color that corresponds with your baby’s gender, so it will be revealed when you cut the first slice of cake!

A Dr. Seuss baby shower lends itself to some really fun refreshment options as well. If your friends are the adventurous kind, you can serve classic green eggs and ham by finding a recipe online or using the Green Eggs and Ham Cookbook by Georgeanne Brennan. If that’s a little too “out there” for your crowd though, use Dr. Seuss as inspiration for an amazing cake and buffet table! The bright colors and whimsical shapes of Dr. Seuss books are sure to inspire a number of beautiful and tasty treats! Try a Pinterest search for “Dr. Seuss food” for some inspiration from other people’s Dr. Seuss parties!
